A few weeks back United Airlines announced a deal with social media marketing company Bckstgr which will allow customers to earn and redeem points by participating in various social media activities. The first of those opportunities is now live. The front page of the bckstgr site is now offering 1,000 MileagePlus points for signing up.
I only earned 400 points for enrolling and I’m guessing the other 600 come in 200 point increments from linking a Twitter, Facebook and FourSquare account to their tool. We’ll see.

You are correct, the additional 600 miles are for registering your social accounts with BCKSTGR. You do this on the My Account page by clicking each box next to Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare.
We are always adding new partners and ways to earn. Look for new social networks in 2013 too!
Keeps crapping out on me, it says my login info isn’t correct. Tried it this morning about 3ET and then again about 8 hours later and same effect.
