DLD 122: Talking Thailand

October 27, 2016

Hipster cafes and giant modern shopping malls are not my first thought when talking about Thailand. But that’s a big part of the culture in Bangkok these days. It is an evolution a long time coming and one that continues to blend in with the traditional culture in an impressive manner. On this week’s show we’ve got special guest Justin Lancy talking with us about living in Asia as an ex-pat and lots of other topics.

Dot

  • Helsinki, because that’s all about Southeast Asia, right?!?

Line

  • Finnair’s service on Helsinki-Bangkok is now served with the A350 and Justin recently got that sweet ride

Destination

  • All things Thailand on this week’s show, including discussion of how the culture is evolving and the impact of the King’s recent death on life for locals and tourists alike.

Justin also puts in a plug for the Google Project Fi voice & data SIM cards, talking about how that’s made his travel experience better in the past several months of globehopping.

Hipster dining in Thailand, fueling the recording of this episode. It was all delicious.
