Ever have that moment when you know a change is coming, you know you’re not going to like it and yet you’re still disappointed when it happens? Yeah, welcome to the new United Airlines PQD requirements for 2016, matching the increase Delta announced earlier in the year. And we’re mostly agreed that it is not the change which bothers us so much as the way it was communicated. And the lack of imagination or creativity.
Also discussed in this week’s episode:
- Virgin America is now a publicly traded company and day one was good to it. But what does the future hold?
- Asiana may not be flying to SFO thanks to a 45-day suspension handed down by Korean authorities. That penalty is under appeal.
- Spirit Airlines is starting up 10 new routes from Houston; 7 are international destinations.
- JetBlue has a new special livery launched to celebrate Veterans Day.
- A major US carrier might be rebranding its domestic first class cabin to something more like a proper Premium Economy product. There are a whole lot of questions about how that would work out.
And plenty more random ramblings mixed in as well. Enjoy the show!
