How do we know what a mistake fare is? I’m sure the airlines will tell us, because that’s the new policy now that the US Department of Transportation is no longer enforcing its own rules. Oopsie.
Also in this week’s show:
- United had a diversion due to an in-flight “incident” which seems reasonable enough, except that one of the involved parties is claiming discrimination. Hard to know the full story but there are plenty of questions yet to be answered even though plenty of folks have drawn conclusions.
- Etihad has a special twitter account just for its top elites. Is this the future of customer service? Is it really any different than having a special phone number for those members?
- All Wyndham Rewards hotels are now 15,000 points per night for a redemption. Even some of the all-inclusive properties and fancy hotels. But so are the historically cheap ones. Win some, lose some.
- American Airlines put its 787 Dreamliner into service last week and Seth was on the inaugural (with 150+ other plane dorks). He shares thoughts on the AA configuration of the type.
As always, lots of other stuff, too, including Rolo‘s rant.
